National Wear Red for Heart Health Day

Staff  will be participating in the American Heart Association’s “National Wear Red for Heart Health Day” on Wednesday February 6 instead of Friday February 1, which is the “official” Wear Red Day, so as not to interfere with our wearing school spiritwear on Reverse RAMS Day.  On February 6 there will be a collection envelope in the main office for those who would like to participate.  The AHA suggested donation is $5.00, but any donation is accepted and appreciated; Red Dress pins will be available.  Last year we raised almost $80.00.  All money collected is used by the AHA to fund research and education to help fight heart disease and stroke in women.
Please remember this is a staff-only event; students participate in Jump Rope for Heart in the spring.  The AHA encourages organizations to have fun with it-dress up, dress down, accessorize, bring some healthy red snacks to share in the faculty room, and take a moment to visit the website to learn more about womens’ heart health, find useful risk assessment tools, download heart-healthy recipes, and more.
Please contact Denise, the Lincoln School nurse, if you have any questions.
